Hi Lisa. Your middle aged woman song was introduced to me as I turned 50 and I have sang like an an anthem for all middle aged women. It has brought much joy to me and the many I have sang it for!
As I and my friends are now heading towards 60 is there any songs/gems you are willing to share that I may in turn do the same ?
Thank you Lisa

Hey Lisa, just wanted to say thank you so much for the wonderful shows on the Australia/NZ OliviaCruise. I don't remember when I have laughed so much.. It is so great for us Aussies to see the wonderful American lesbian entertainers and my partner and I loved you all. Will look forward to following you on utube and hopefully one day in the States.

My partner, Carol Porter, and I have been long time fans. Carol contacted you last spring asking to use your song "You Are The One". You helped her get the sheet music and she SURPRISED me at our wedding on June 14th by singing it during the ceremony! We are attending your 2:00 pm performance on Saturday Dec. 20. It would be so wonderful if you could SURPRISE her with a shout out. If not possible, of course we love you anyway! I'd love to send you a picture or two of her singing YOUR song at our wedding but I am not on Facebook and can't get your email to work. Ideas? Thanks. Susan

Hey Lisa,
I came out n Seattle in the early-1990's with Venus Envy songs as the soundtrack, and courted my partner 18 years ago with some of your songs on a mix tape. I went to see your Holiday show this year with my partner and parents and it was good times, good memories. Thank you so much for being there!

The musical numbers from everyone of your entertainment family was amazing. And when you all played together magic happened. Thank you Lisa. We adore you.

I saw you this past weekend at the Kansas City Women's Choir- Play Me Some Counrty Music. My best friend died in Febuary of this year, times have been hard for me, I haven't laughed at all or smiled very much. But when you started your show, I laughed out loud, I giggled and hell, I think I snorted a time or two. Sappy story, I know. I just wanted to thank you and Peggy for being you and doing what you do. It took 2 outrageously funny strangers to help me see that I am ok, that I can laugh and I can smile. Keep on doing what your doing...cause your the best at it!!!!

Just saw your show 'Demonstrate the Place of My Abode' online. Just beautiful. What a wonderful tribute to your Dad and family as well. I also grew up in Southern Oregon (Klamath Falls- we called it 'The Hole') So very different than here in Seattle. Also a big fan of your 'Ham' shows with Peggy Platt. I've seen them all of the years. Thanks again for making this show available on your website. I'm quite moved.

Saw the article about famous Grizzlies and here you are, I do remember you as a little girl, and your look exactly the same! So glad you have such a fun career, you obviously have worked very hard. And by the way, your Dad was my teacher at Walker elementary and a HUGE reason for my happiness on moving to Ashland in 5th grade!

July 9, 2012

I just came across this page, but I came across your song, "I'm A Middle Aged Woman" a long time ago, lip-synched by another woman on a youtube video. I was son enraptured by it, I googled it to find the source and the rest is history. Here's the video of me lip-synching it at my 60th birthday party last October. The lip-synch is not too good, nor is the video quality, but it was one of the highlights of the night. I hope I haven't infringed on copyright. I thank you kindly for your song. It speaks to all of us baby-boomers!

June 23, 2012

Wow... just finished watching your 1-Woman Show. This, on the tails of posting your latest musical video, "Hands Off My Clam", made my night. I have a similar story about my mom, who died from colon cancer in '96. My brothers and I played a joke on the hospice rep during the family meeting, all keeping straight faces, as I reiterated her instructions about mom's morphine regime and ended with, "So, I guess once mom is gone, whatever morphine is left we can split between the four of us, right?". We held it as long as we could, watching her face change from inquisitive listening into eye-bulging shock as she exclaimed, "NO, NO, definitely not!!" And we all burst out laughing. She said with relief that some families use humor as a coping mechanism. You understand that very well. I posted your video on my Facebook page, noting that I was in love. All due respect to your lovely partner, if anything changes, I'll be here. Perhaps taken by then, but who knows? I have always wanted someone I could sing the harmonies to their melodies. Thanks for sharing your stories and your humor, it's a great gift. Laugh on...with love, it makes everything worthwhile. Sincerely ~ Donna

You are a goddess! I still have my Dos Fallopia tape (My Breasts Are Out Of Control!) and my Venus Envy tape, so I've known that you've been a goddess for a looong time. "Hands Off My Clam" simply confirms what I've always known.

You Rock!

Hey Lisa,
I CANNOT BELIEVE how fast the years have gone. My wife now of 16 years and I spent our first Christmas in Seattle see the Holiday Christmas Game Show and then going back to SF to see you and Peggy there - or should i say here :) I sooo miss that Holiday Game Show and YOU. I saw you at the Wild Rose, at the Backstage, on Capital Hill... You made my growing up years a safe place to be. I'm not sure i would have survived getting harassed at school, kicked out of my church and my family - if I hadn't had you and Peggy and Laura Love there reminding me that everything was OK and I wasn't alone. Just thought I'd send you an email on this rainy Friday and let you know what a difference your life has made for so many of us. Lots of love and peace and joy :) Diane

Your performance on our cruise back in 200? CRS. was so great! We bought your cd. Tall Cool Drink. I had no idea how much I would grow to love it. It tells the story of a previous lover; my now love forever of 24 yrs. We were married on that cruise..After a recent near-death experience, I have begun to really pay attention to everything. Middle Age Woman and Back when we had sex are my two favorite songs. I am buying MAW for Christmas gifts. Thank you for being you. So talented and special. Tina

Hi Lisa..Just a quick note..I was on the recent Olivia Greek Isle cruise and sang "That's All" on kareoke night..I dedicated it to my partner who also died in March of 2009 of stomach cancer..I just watched your beautiful tribute to your father and was so moved I had to send this note...What an incredible tribute to a wonderful man...Also, Lisa I listened to the "Tall Cool Drink" CD and even though I've heard you perform on Olivia trips many times, this CD really showcases your voice in a special way...I loved every minute of it...Keep doing what you do as you bring such joy into people's lives and I know your Dad is smiling...Fondly, Betty Arnold

My brother, Will & I both had your dad in 6th grade at Walker School. Will put the link to your webpage on Facebook and I watched the whole 1 woman show video. The part about the science guy is so true. Mr. Koch took his 6th grade class up the Siskiyous after they dynamited the mountain to build the pass for I-5 in about 1963 or 1964. We found lots of fossils. I remember him having a geode with some garnets that I just loved. What memories & what a special guy he was.

Season's Greetings! Over the years I have collected "I'll Be a Homo for Christmas," "My Breasts are Out of Control" and "Colorblind Blues" if I ever find where it vanished to. No matter. I'm disorganized and can't find half the things I'm looking for. They show up! But I enjoy listening to the music. Venus Envy's Xmas album is awesome. I'm a bi male, and my hetero wife isn't too keen on it. But she tries to be accepting. So I'm writing to say hi, best wishes, an in the words of ABBA, thank you for the music.

September 28, 2009

you were ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS at the IAWP Final Banquet, Lisa!!! That 'female cop' skit you did in the beginning of your act was probably the funniest jingle I've EVER heard and it was just flat-out endearing and entertaining. PLEASE publish the lyrics......OR record the whole song as an mp3 on your site, because it needs to shared with more of our 'sisters' on the job here in New Jersey. THANK YOU for a really funny.....and fun.....night! ~kate

I am planning a gift packeage for my friend Marvin's 65th birthday party. He is a longtime music collector and became an avid "Lisa Listener" when I gave him the cd You Make My Pants Pound. He lost the cd and has been whining ever since. So, I am putting together a 3 cd Lisa and Dos Fallopia gift set. I was pumped to see that My Breasts Are Out Of Control is on cd now- although I still have the cassette! I would love to see a Dos Fallopia reunion in Seattle or eastern Washington (Yakima!) Thanks for the wonderful music and laughs

July 29, 2009

I first heard "My Breasts are Out of Control" in the summer of 1995. We used to listen and laugh, over and over again. We had no idea what this tape was or where it was from. I often looked for it on the internet, using the lesbian kumbaya lyrics as my search. Nothing ever came up, until today! Imagine how excited I am to get this CD sent to me. It is obviously good if I can still remember it 14 years later. Yay!!!!!

Hi Lisa: The last time I saw you sing was with your brother, at your High School Graduation from Ashland.
My brother Neville was in your class; don't know if you went to the 20th yr reunion but Nev went and recieved the most 'Physically Changed" person. He's a big muscle head now so different than the young boy you knew.
A friend from Ashland ( David Zaslow) sent me the link to your show. I'm really happy for you, your career and all the good you are doing. Check out Nev sometime, actually his new clips are on You Tube- I think you'd like seeing him. Take care, Lisa - lovely to see you again. Alison

I'm going to work on an email campaign to see if we can't get your talent out to a larger audience!!! The Middle Aged Woman was not only brilliant but shed alot of light on my current condition and I'm sure would be of great relief for others suffering the same symptoms, I'm mean who ever told you that farting was a part of menopause, really someone shoud have mentioned this, thank god for your informative song, my new menopause bible!!!

Lisa, so sorry to read about your Dad's passing. We lost Mom in July. My Dad will be 89 in December, his health is fair and actually right now, I am on hold as to whether I need to drop everything and go down there. I could always feel for people that have lost parents but until you actually loose a parent, it is not the same. I have been told the first year is a year of firsts, we are still in this as are you. Hang in there, I honestly don't think it gets better you just celebrate who they were which you conveyed so nicely. Take Care and my thoughts are with you and David.
